From Ruslan's perspective:
When Kristina was born, it was the beginning of a new chapter for my wife and me. We lived in Delft, Netherlands, but our roots remained in Ukraine. I'm from Chernihiv, but spent most of my life in Kharkiv, and my wife is from Kharkiv too.
We decided to raise our daughter in a multilingual environment to maintain connection with the culture and language of our ancestors.
From Kristina's perspective:
I loved solving puzzles, especially the Rubik's cube. Dad always admired how I could take it apart and put it back together. Dad always supported me, patiently explaining how to handle challenges.
I especially remember the game Abzû. One of the most memorable moments was meeting the shark. At first it seemed dangerous, but dad explained that sometimes what seems scary is actually not a threat.
My language skills developed in a layered environment. At school I spoke Dutch, in games and on YouTube — English, and at home — Russian.
These moments with dad — stars in the sky, a falling blade of grass, underwater adventures in Abzû — all of this shaped my childhood. They became the foundation for my growing up.
